The Pelicans Pep Rally
By: Thalia James & Lila Roberts, 5th Graders
On Tuesday, April 17th in the gym, second through fifth graders and teachers assembled in the gym for an exciting testing pep rally. Second graders made posters to support the Pelicans through the playoffs. Fifth grade gave testing strategies and sang “Rock This Test” to the third and fourth graders to help them prepare for testing. Pierre, the Pelican’s mascot, played fun little games to get students ready for the playoffs and testing. While they were here, the Pelicans community affairs coordinator, Michael Ergas, told the students the Pelican’s new playoff slogan “Do It Bigger.” Our pep rally was a success, because the Pelicans won the first playoff series and our students have been doing their very best on the LEAP tests. Students, don’t forget to keep using those testing strategies on the LEAP tests and you’ll do great!
